Song Album vol. 1 - 2003/12/30 21:13 One of my treasured JT possessions is The Song Album vol.1 that Jake gave me on our second meeting (in March 1987 in Bridlington) in which both he and Alan Williams wrote personal messages.
On the contents page it states:
A paperback collection of poetry will be published in Spring 1977 by Star Books Ltd., 123 King Street London W6 9JG.

I've done various searches for Star Books etc. but haven't come up with anything significant. Does anyone know anything about the book?

Re: Song Album vol. 1 - 2003/12/30 22:20 I think this is the "Jake's Progress" Book. Out of print but occasionally appears on ebay. Gordon

Re: Song Album vol. 1 - 2003/12/31 01:19 I agree with Gordon, Sue, this does sound like Jake's Progress (confusing as there's an LP with the same name). I havea copy of this, and it's one of MY treasured possessions! Sadly not signed - I don't even know where I got it from! I have got his sig on a couple of LP's though, and on an ancient programme that he brought out in the 1970's - it cost me about 12p I think! (there is a scanned verion of this on Edmund's website)

I'll be happy to show you all my treasures in Devon in September (or maybe even somewhere like the Wirral before then????)

Re: Song Album vol. 1 - 2003/12/31 02:31 I think so too! Sue, you may have a rarity there so treasure it.
I have a copy of Jakes' progress, given to me as a present by a wonderful friend (who came to the Tramfest). Pam, I'm really looking forward to seeing all your treasures (again)!, so I'll start a new topic re. the proposed NW meet.

Re: Song Album vol. 1 - 2004/01/07 23:54 Thank you Gordon, Pam and Phil for your messages. Sorry I've taken so long to reply - I escaped for a while over the holiday!
I've heard of Jake's Progress but didn't realise it was a book of poetry or I'd have tried to get it sooner. I'll be looking out for it.
Pam, I'd love to be able to say I'd see you and your treasures in Devon or the Wirral but it's hard for me to get away just when I want to as I care for an elderly disabled man and if he needs me I have to be available.
I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. A very happy New Year to you all.

Love Sue.
