Love the site and fallen in love with this genius since the BBC4 introduction. I was too young to have seen him first time round (when he was recording and performing that is) Anyway, I have a bunch of question about this fine troubador.

I can't seem to load the media (videos) etc. Any hints?

I'm a day into the Jake in the Box extravaganzaI'll send a cheque for the LIVE IN GERMANY cd now . Is it still in stock? Will you reprint the out of print one?

Can you tell me about the 70's book "Jake Thackray Jake's Progress" - is it just lyrics or any of his writings?

That piece from the Yorkshire Post on your site is superb. Any chance of an anthology? Was there a lot? Were they all so good?

I can help with a couple of these:

Unless they have sold out in the past week there should still be a couple of hundred 'Live in Germany' cds in stock

The original project cd will not be reprinted as far as I know.

Keep your eyes on the forum as regards future project releases: we have plans for more assuming that there is enough of a market to cover the basic economics. Also, most of us have day jobs so things tend to go at a deliberate pace rather than with a woosh.

Jake's Progress is lyrics with a written inroduction.

Ian Watson may be able to say more about the Yorkshire Post material: I know that there is quite a lot of it and publishing it would be a significant task.

 Re:Book??? Email to this fine site. - 2006/10/14 12:51 The Yorkshire Post column is one of nearly two hundred which Jake wrote on a weekly basis between 1990 and 1994. I am trying very hard to get them re-published as an anthology - many of them are brilliant, lots very funny and not a few extremely angry. I thought I had a book publisher last April, but he disappeared from view over the summer. The good news is that he has suddenly reappeared since the TV programme and is asking for urgent talks in November. Hopefully there will be a good outcome.
I hope any book would also include transcripts of a selection of Reggie Sedgewick stories and other onstage patter, plus extensive out-takes from the interviews conducted for the TV programme. I'll keep you posted.
