On Wednesday night I performed a number of Jake's songs to the assembled members of Lymm Women's Institute, no less! The set list ran to eight songs and included The Lodger and On Again! On Again! (which I had been dared to do by various members of this forum). Excellent response to Jake's songs (e.g. 'I can't remember what he looked like, but I remember the songs', 'my husband loved Jake Thackray', 'we play Jake's records every week') and some strong interest in a JT evening I am putting together in Knutsford in February (more details to follow in due course).
