 fake jackray - 2006/01/02 13:35 i was wondering whether the man who is currently gigging as "fake jackray" was a member of this forum? my friend fay saw him in cumbria at a folk festival and got his autograph for the witches and i was interested in booking him in newcastle. if not, does anyone know how to get hold of him (in a non-sexual way) or of anyone in the north area who is doing jake covers? ta very muchly,

 Re:fake jackray - 2006/01/02 15:51 It depends what you mean by north. I have a crack when I think I can get away with it and I live in Edinburgh.

There are lots of us here who perform Jake's songs to a reasonable level (usually decent folk club floor singer level and above) and Newcastle is only a couple of hours from Edinburgh by train...

As I recall someone calling themselves Fake Thackray once posted on this board - or an earlier version of it - seeking words and tabs. I don't think the conversation went very far though which was a shame.
