Why won't these smileys go  where you want to put them, if you forget to put them there in the first place  ???
Absolutely! But if you really insist, I think you can delete what you have typed since the place where you wanted to put them, (or copy and cut), put in the smiley, then put back the text you cut. Comprende? 
And if it insists on going on the line below your last line of text, instead of lining up with it, try putting the cursor after the last word of text, then using the delete button to delete the spaces and draw the smiley up onto the same line.
