Holmfirth 2007 - 2007/01/27 17:30 Those of you looking for something exciting, worthwhile and interesting to do over the weekend of 11, 12 and 13 of May will be breathless with anticipation when I advise you that the Jake Thackray Experience - including members of this Board, will be appearing at the Holmfirth Festival of Folk on Saturday 12th. This is our second visit to Holmfirth following last year's triumph with a bigger and better
venue to boot.

The intention of the Festival organisers is that tickets will be free - but you may be asked for a contribution on the night towards expenses.

Details of the festival are here:-

Re:Holmfirth 2007 - 2007/05/05 20:57 A reminder to anyone in the vicinity of the Holmfirth Festival of Folk next Saturday 12 May to come along to the function room of the Old Bridge Hotel for 7.30pm and support your local Jake Thackray Experience.

WE will give you thirty-odd of Jake's songs over a two hour period

YOU can sing along and enjoy Jake's songs in the environment where they must be kept alive - with a warm, breathing, laughing, flirting, drinking audience having a right good time.

Best of all you won't be at home watching the Eurovision Song Contest for want of anything better to do.

Are you Experienced? You will be: be there or be square

Re:Holmfirth 2007 - 2007/05/14 13:03 DOUZE POINTS to everyone involved in the truly memorable evening at Holmfirth on Saturday!

All the performances would have been creditable against any standard, but to have put this tight show together with such minimal collective rehearsal demonstrates a superb triumph of dedication over circumstance.

Jake's legacy is in good hands!

The youth section bodes well for the future too.

(My surprise reunion with a long-lost college chum, spotted on stage hiding behind a large beard, was just the cherry on the cake. )
