I am not sure about clunky bits, I think this is a great alternative for the English original. Considering it is one of Jake's most popular songs, but the 'scabby cat' sort of makes it rather passe, a joke worn threadbare. The other characters are also overdue for a makeover.
It would be good to see Keith our accomplished translator and lyricist get together with some of the performers to agree an official alternative version, complete with clunks as long as they work for everyone.
No confusion about the title - clearly Tra-la-la, English version. So Lah-di-dah stays untouched.
