|
As Sister Josephine Kicks The Habit remains for the moment in development, working towards its national tour, great news has just emerged from EMI. May 2006 will see the release not just of a 4-CD boxed set of the complete EMI studio sessions by Jake Thackray, but also of another 2-CD set containing the entire, previously unreleased (except as a privately distributed Presentation Double Album), QEH concert from which Jake's Live Performance album was compiled. Included in the boxed set will be previously unreleased and unheard songs, including The Shepherdess (two very different versions), Kirkstall Road Girl (two versions), Le Cygne Noir (with Jake's own French translation of the lyrics), Vicar's Missus, My Roly Poly Girl, Bring Me My Pipe, Freda, Famous People, Family Grave, Thomas Haverly and Slowly Our Eyes. Victor Lewis-Smith's one-hour television documentary tribute to Jake is now completed. We will let you have transmission details as soon as they are available. Ian Watson (TAMAR Scarborough) |
