The Jake Thackray Experience will be celebrating the songs of the late Jake Thackray as part of the Holmfirth Festival of Folk. The event will take place at The White Hart, Towngate, Holmfirth on Saturday 6 May 2006 at 19.30

The Experience are a number of performers who will mostly be familiar to previous Jakefest attendees. Ian Burdon is organising the show and is excited by the chance to be in Holmfirth and to bring Jake’s music to a folk festival audience. Cath Ingham, one of the organisers of the festival said in a press release for the show that: “We were delighted when Ian got in touch to say that he would like to get the performers together to come to Holmfirth. He was one of the first to contact us to offer his support and help and we are looking forward to a grand night.”

Like most of the events at the festival, the show will be free but donations will be sought towards the performers’ expenses. The show is also unticketed so you should get along early to be sure of a seat.
