Holmfirth 2006
The Jake Thackray Experience are dedicated to keeping the memory of the late, great Jake Thackray alive in the best way they know how – by performing his songs.

And what songs they are – The Blacksmith and the Toffee Maker, The Hair of the Widow of Bridlington, Sister Josephine, The Bantam Cock, works of genius from one of Englands finest songwriters.

The Experience came to Holmfirth in 2006 and played upstairs at the White Hart to a packed house.  Over the evening the Experience played 30 or so of Jake’s songs from the well known to the obscure, rib-achingly funny to poignant, and were delighted that the audience sang along enthusiastically – whether they knew the words or not (this is a Folk Festival after all!).

And they’re back again in 2007, playing in the function room of the Old Bridge Hotel from 7.30pm on Saturday 12th May.  Come along and remember one of Yorkshire’s finest.  Are you Experienced? You will be.
